For tonight, I was originally only going to make meat. I ended up making sauteed cabbage, spaghetti, chummus, and avocado dip. For the day, it's the usual, chulent, eggs, and salad.

We had:
Challah -- I rolled out the dought and filled some with sugar, cinnamon, and raisins, others with mayo, garlic, oregano and basil. Then I rolled them and made into round spirals. Topped the latter with "Russian caraway" -- not Russian, and not caraway. Want to try with fried onions too.

I'm sick. Really sick. bad bad cold type of sick. the no cooking kind of sick.
So. Looks like we will only have two or three kids for chag and I informed everyone that on the first night we are having shabbos leftovers and for lunch if someone goes to the makolet to get 1/2% pireus cheese I will make lasagna. If no one wants to go, then we have more leftovers, omlettes, french toast, anything the kids want to make.

I am abdicating. I am exhausted from life.

I decided the only way I could survive this tishrei was by eliminating shabbos guests. That means we had only 1 guest fri night, and 5 guests (inc 2 kids) on shabbos day. However, since I knew about none of them before shabbos, they don't count.

I also only served 1 course, no dessert, except bought cookies, or something from the freezer.

wow, stress free shabbos!

we had

homemade challa
crispy roast potatoes
salad
lamb roast
schnitzle
chatzilim (leftover)
chummous (bought)

rakusens choc chip cookies

day
schnitzle
cabbage salad
beetroot salad
eggs
chummous
chatzilim
cold cuts
carrot muffins

honey cake

sure - you start off with a nice yummy roll ... slice it in half (after making kiddush on 2) ... spread skippy's natural peanut butter on one side - wipe the knife on the other side clean before putting into the jar of jelly - flavour of your choice - I prefer raspberry - then spread that on the other side ... fold together and then ... bite it ... Cheese
