I’ve been back and forth on this for a while and I just don’t know what to do. I have a low hairline, not crazy low, I’ve definitely seen people with much lower but it’s low enough that whatever lace top wig I would buy, I would need to add hair. I really want to buy a new wig for the first time since I’m married a few years ago, and I want to get it right.
Besides for the bother and expense of adding hair to the wig, my husband thinks that the wig would look nicer on me if it sat further back on my forehead because my current one looks like it’s slipped down by accident in order to cover my hairline that I know is there. And I kind of agree.
But I’m hesitant because I won’t know what looks better until I actually get the laser and then it’s irreversible at the point.
I guess all my rambling comes down to, have you or do you know anyone that’s done laser for a low hairline? Did wigs look better on you after laser? And if the wig looked better, did it look strange when you weren’t wearing a wig-like when you looked in the mirror or were wearing a tichel? Laser takes away the baby hair and I feel like that would look unnatural and strange.
Any input or advice is much appreciated!

I've heard that with specifically the forehead the hair just grows back "fuzzy". I feel like evryone suggest electrolysis for hairline. ( and laser for anywhere else)

It is normal to have to add hair to a lace top wig. Even with a reg hairline. The wig just looks better that way. I have a reg hairline and see a huge difference in the wig I added hair to the front. I personally wouldn't laser my hairline it will look strange when it's not fully done. It's not like one day you have hair the next day you won't. And I wouldn't ask my dh opinion about something like that is it the type he would even notice? No need to point stuff like that out and make him aware of something he prob wouldn't even have noticed.

Ha I wish it was abt me pointing it out. He’s a very opinionated person so he’s the one who feels more strongly than me abt lasering my hairline. Especially because Im so unhappy with my current lace top and the hairline on the lace top is the main issue…

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the first time you laser everything is permanent. It takes a few times to really get it to stop growing back.
You'll be able to see how you like it.

I lasered my hairline for a wig and I'm happy with the results. For me the hair that was low as you call it was on the sides near where the ear pieces of the shaitel go, not on top by my forehead. Personally I think I would do it in your situation but obviously it has to be something that you yourself are comfortable with, not just that your husband wants you to do it. Hatzlacha!

I did it. Wigs low down on hairline looks terrible.
But your natural hairline won't look as natural.
You gotta decide between looking better in your wig vs looking better in your hair.

It’s true, the hair that’s low is also a lot by the sides of the forehead. So did u just laser the side and not the top? Did it look even?
Im very indecisive so its hard for me to even know what I would be comfortable with 😫

Are there not filters on instagram which show what you’d look like with different hairlines? Maybe TikTok? (I know this might not be helpful, just a thought)

Remove the individual hairs needed via electrolysis. Laser creates a weird shaped hairline that never looks natural ever again and those around me who have done it regret it every day.
Good luck!

I did it and it’s amazing!!!! I love it! Laser for some only takes care of 90-95% of hair rest you can do electrolysis.
I was also nervous about the look - I shaved the hair and waxed it, loved it, and did laser after.

Depends how much hair you want to remove - electrolysis to remove a half inch of hair along the full hairline would take forever

I removed my widow's peak. I miss it, I liked how it looked before but my wigs look so much better worn a bit higher and the lace tops also look better now so I'm very glad I did it.

Around how much did it cost in total?

Cost depends on location.
I paid 595 for a 2 yr package for hairline.
Other option was $100 per session.
Most ppl need 5-7 sessions.
Hormonal changes (pregnancy, nursing, menopause) can impact effectiveness and regrowth.
I live in Monsey for reference.

That looks like a good idea to me. Shave it the way you want it and then check over several days if you and dh like it that way, with and without wig.

I lasered it shortly after getting married. I love how much easier it makes my sheitel, but DH feels it looks unnatural and wishes I hadn't done it...
