Hi there
My grandmother makes this rosh hashana delicacy, where she batters and fries spinach leaves and pieces of squash and then covers them in honey.
She says its a sephardic/tunisian thing, and I was wondering if anyone else eats this for rosh hashana??
If not, you're missing out!!
Smile

The mother (of Lebanese origin) of my hostess made this. My family liked it, I didn't (it was too heavy for my taste.)

I'm not sephardic but it sounds very interesting. Could you post an exact recipe?

I would love to, but I don't have the recipe! I'll have to get it from my grand-mother!

we use spinach and gourd(pumpkin specifically) but we don't cook it like that. This year I made pumpkin cake, other years pumpkin pie or pumpkin borekas. You can use any type of gourd though.

you can do it with bnsquash, my MIL does. I just don'y like it. cook and mash it and add spices then fill the borekas.
