I know it's early but that thread got me thinking.

What would I put for the second food with challah for MM. DH also holds that dips are not counted bc they're tafel to the challah- I.e. you wouldn't eat matbucha on its own.

Need something pareve and cheap. All ideas welcome!

A soup or salad?
Something like a corn salad or coleslaw is easy to make and package and can easily enhance a seudah.

I like the salad idea. Not sure about the grape juice bc it gives hospital chesed package vibes imo.

I do eat matbucha on its own. Just saying. Also herring, hummus, tachina, babaganouch, shakshuka without eggs, all that.

When I did challos a few years ago, I did it with my dd as a kallah and we had a 'chosson' and a 'challah/kallah'. I think it was a regular bottle of drink which I stuck a little tuxedo and hat cut-out, and the challah was wrapped in some tulle as a 'vail'. It looked really cute.

A couple of little containers of salad, something like cucumber salad or coleslaw that can be made in advance?

A container of soup is also nice.

I made a few years present box challos. Basically take small square foils and then in each foil place four small balls of dough. On two balls across each other put sesame seeds and the other two poppy seeds. After I baked it I wrapped it with a ribbon and a bow on top like a gift. I added a small grape juice put it in a cellophane bag with another bow and it was really nice.

I've seen those kinds of rolls! So so cute!
