I always make baked goods for MM. I only give to my friends and family who eat at my house and I'm a good baker. Now that we got that out of the way Wink
Since it's Friday I was thinking to either send challah or babka. Both a signature dishes of mine. Challah will either be overdone by everyone and maybe people won't appreciate challah for the freezer so close to pesach or maybe it will be really appreciated and one less challah to make. Then again do people even appreciate challah anymore or has everyone converted to sour dough?
Babka is delicious and I'm assuming will be eaten on shabbos, but what would you prefer?
Id send a dip with the challah and a chocolate with the babka I think.

Babka no matter what day of the week Purim is. It’s a real treat that many people don’t make for themselves.

(the dip may not count as a second min as it's tafel to the challah; if that's all you're giving to everyone, please ask a shaila)

I look at it a different way, everyone uses and needs challah for Shabbos but many people don’t like, don’t eat or can’t eat Babka (dieting, etc.).

Could you do two mini babkas of different flavors? Sounds awesome! Wish I were on your MM route.

I live in Baltimore. So it’ll be laffy taffy, chips, something cookieish - just like every other Purim, just like everyone else in town.

Babka.
If Purim is Friday I have my challahs sorted so I'm not relying on anyone's.
Babka is always welcome either as mezonos for Shabbos kiddush or to have with my coffee before I light.

Last time Purim was a Friday I did a nuts/seeds and jelly bean dish. Was so easy to make and pack.

Since you can't know in advance what you'll be getting in MM, chances are you'd have challah ready for Shabbos anyway so then it's a wash 😀

But on the other hand, every Purim we receive tons of hamantaschen, cakes and other baked goods so babka wouldn’t be something I’d need more…

I don't bake, so heimishe challah is always welcome! I would just freeze the store bought challah for the following week.

I can't believe this is even a question. Babka all the way!

Whoever chose challah must have never tasted homemade babka. Hint: it's 100000x times better than storebought.

So I asked my husband as a joke if he'd prefer to get challah or babka for mm and he said "challah because you get so much cake on purim" and I stared at him in horror and I'm starting to wonder who this crazy person even IS. Saying you get too much cake is like saying my baby is too cute. I mean, how can you ever have TOO MUCH CAKE?

That’s actually not true. And not everyone necessarily prefers homemade babka to other homemade pastries they receive. That’s your taste but not everyone’s.
