I need a break from cholent. No one’s been eating it lately and it gets wasted. DH hates meatballs. What can I keep warm in my crockpot that will be good for shabbos day?

Make a good mushroom barley soup, and serve it as a first course.

Heat up schnitzels and kugel for a main course. You won't need too much, because people will be less hungry by then.

Stick a raw corned beef or pastrami in right before shabbos, preferably frozen if you don’t consider that a safety issue.

We accidentally made mushroom barley soup last week by adding a couple of mushrooms into the regular cholent (no beans) and it was amazing! Def making again this week but with more mushrooms!
