I do my nails at home with simple Essie or OPI polish. I find that after 2-3 days they’re half peeled and I end up doing my nails twice a week.
Am I doing something wrong or is this typical for at home manicures?

No, I find my nails look heavy with more than one layer. I like the airiness of one layer.

Of course it won't last if you have a base down. But even with the whole shebang my at home nails would never last and chip quite frequently. I rather get glue on nails and cut them down to size, they last much longer and don't chip
