Hi All,

Looking for people who have experience with ulcerative colitis. I had one dr’s appointment and he said it is likely ulcerative colitis but need to do a colonoscopy to be sure. So I am awaiting that.
I was given medication but honestly it’s been making me feel worse.
I’ve been feeling super overwhelmed because I don’t know what to expect.
This has been ongoing since December I lost like 40 pounds from this.
Anyone has experiance with this? How long after your diagnosis did you begin to feel better?

I don’t know much about UC. A family member was diagnosed with it as an older teen. I can see it is a miserable condition. One can never be too far from a bathroom…
The condition has been managed best when avoiding certain kinds of foods.
Are you working with a nutritionist?

Please try craniosacral therapy. It really helped me and others that I know tremendously.

Are you on the oral masalamine or suppositories? The suppositories didnt help my son but the oral did, but it took a good while to work maybe around a month or 6 weeks.
How do they know it's Colitis instead of Crohn's? Did they do blood work and stool sample?

It’s the Oral. Been taking for around 7 weeks.
I guess they don’t really know yet he just said it sounds Colitus not Chrons.
I had done blood work and stool.

Does your son feel good most days with medication? Does it prevent all flare ups?
