I am having a crowd for Friday Night dinner this week, and wanted to do a starter of smoked salmon roses on a few cucumber slices, with a squiggle of some kind of yellow sauce that goes with it (I am allergic to fish, so wouldn't even know what it should taste like). Anyone have such a recipe? Am assuming mayo and mustard, with sugar and lemon juice? Quantities please.

I'd go with a (parve) creamy scallion or chive cream cheese.

you can mix mayo, dill, and water. My sister served this with fresh salmon.

Another vote for mayo & dill, best combo for smoked salmon. Alternatively you can do mustard vinaigrette--grainy/French mustard (not english mustard) with salad dressing. Or you can do 1 part mayo, 1 part parve soya yogurt, 1 bunch dill (stem removed), 1tbsp grain mustard and whizz. Gold's or Mrs Elswood's wasabi sauce should go nicely if people don't mind something a bit spicy.

A honey mustard dressing goes very well with a smoked salmon salad.
