If someone has Crohns, they might want to consider the Specific Carbohydrate Diet to cure it.

I have Crohns, symptoms vary from one person to another. I had terrible joint pain, rectal bleeding, mouth ulcers, stomach aches and fever. Some people also get an eczema. You can request your Dr. to do a blood test that might show signs of crohns. Check if you are anemic, do a ESR- Sed rate and a CRP (C-Reactive Protien). Although a colonoscopy would be the most accurate test. If you need any support, let me know. Refuah Shelemah!!!

You can see a dermatologist to help with the mouth ulcers. That's what I did.

A Dermatologist will not help much if the mouth ulcers are due to crohns. Crohns is an autoimmune disorder. Once you get the crohns under control the ulcers will get better and you will stop getting them.

Officially, I got diagnosed when I was 18 . A colonoscopy is not painful at all. They make you a bit sleepy and you don't feel a thing. It's just the preparation which is a pain in the neck. You need to clean yourself out a day before. Seriously, if you need support feel free to email me at chesedseeker@yahoo.com .

A day before the test you will be given something like a laxative to clean your colon. At the office the doctor will give you something to make you a bit sleepy like demerol. He will then insert a flexible tube up your rectum. This tube has a small camera on the tip and the doc could see your inside of your colon on a screen. He will also take biopsies. The whole procedure should not take longer than 15 to 20 minutes, maybe less.
I always ask my doc to make me the least sleepy so I am actually up during the procedure, because I hate waking up all groggy. It's no big deal. I am not sure why people are so afraid to make this test. The only thing that is freaky about this test is the results!!

A family member of mine wants to go on to this diet for his Crohns! He does not know where and how to start? He has spoken to the people at Digestivewellness and they were very helpful.
I was wondering if anyone on this board is on this diet or is familiar with this diet and is willing to offer support and advice. Thanks

For those of you with crohn's, feel free to join the Chronic Illness forum in women's health. There are a number of members there who are on the SCD diet and know quite a lot about the disease.

Maybe someone can help bec I’m in lots of pain. I have Crohn's disease which I thought was under control but now I’m 6 months pregnant with extreme lower back sharp pains that can also be lower abdominal pain. I’ve been hospitalized and they can’t figure it out. Baby and uterus are checking out fine. Tylenol does not help. Anyone here have a clue????!!!!

I’m so sorry that you’ve been hospitalized for this. Big hugs! You might want to start a new thread so more ppl will see your post.
SCD diet is extremely helpful in managing symptoms of Crohns.
