Refuah sheleimah! Not easy but try to keep them in separate rooms. Also wash hands lots (not hand sanitizer as for some sicknesses it doesn't work so well).

This newborn is under a week

9 year ago I came home with a newborn with 2 of her siblings had the flu. The newborn should stay in a room and as you go in/out, wash your hands and change your clothing ( leave one outfit for inside the room, other one for outside)
Everything will be fine.

With such a tiny baby you'd be smart to get mobile urgent care to come test your 11 yo. Although probably doesn't make much difference which bug it is, should probably just do all the recommendations above.

(And I think they're not so worried about strep in NB, though if you're into antibiotics may want to know.)

When I had a small child sick I definitely put on a robe to hold them & took off to go to the baby. I thought maybe a bit OCD so I'm relieved to hear others had the same idea.

Just a note about nursing vs. pumping: When the baby nurses, her saliva gets on your nipple and your body can tell what germs are there and your milk develops more antibodies to fight those illnesses. With pumping, your body doesn't get that feedback from the baby.

I definitely had a few times that I came home with a newborn and one of my other kids got sick. It was often a toddler or preschooler. I did not do much to prevent the baby from getting sick, but BH Hashem protects them and my newborns never got sick.
