Hi my baby is 2 weeks old and dr is pushing me to get him rsv vaccine. A quick Google search says rsv vaccine was developed in 2023 and that makes me nervous to give my baby such a new vaccine. Any advice?

It has been given to preemies for long before that.
You're the parent. It's your choice. I would definitely give it, but you don't have to.
I had a niece who was very ill with RSV as an infant. BH she is ok. I'm sure we all know stories like this. There are also medicines are RSV now. You would have to discuss this all with your doctor.
Hatzlacha.

A friend's baby was recently hospitalized for RSV. Please get it! (I got it while pregnant with my newborn and B"H she was safe even though she was exposed to it by my toddler the day she was born). Not following the thread because I'm not interacting with the imamother antivaxxers

I would definitely not give it. My newborn was sick with RSV and still wouldn't. The studies for the RSV vaccine showed that the likeliness of dying from vaccine was stronger than having RSV.

If it were an oral medication with occasional bad side effects, would you give it?

Prophylactic medication with possible bad side effects vs.
May or may not get infected with rsv with possible bad side effects

I heard this vaccine was recalled. Please do your research. Don’t trust your dr, vaccines can definitely cause harm to infants.

The old RSV vaccine was something different and only given to premies.

Please ask your dr who is pushing your 2 week old infant to get this about how he makes sense of this article

I'm a non vaxxer but I don't think those experimental vaccines are the same ones being offered by pediatricians currently (synagis and beyfortus) which are actually monoclonals.

This isn't either what pediatricians are giving babies
