In my world only when you're super glammed up - like at a wedding you'd wear a gown to.

Only if it's an occasion that you'd normally get full face makeup professionally done.

There are some very natural subtle ones. So if that's what you mean then why not. If you mean noticeable ones then just for simcha.

I agree with this.
The woman who was my interior designer wore very natural false eyelashes and I didn't even realize until we were discussing eyelashes for some reason. We had become friends during the course of her doing the work.
If you mean the kind of eyelashes that are obviously fake, then I don't know anyone in the real world who wears them everyday - and that includes secular women. Most women don't do full out glam except for special occasions. They don't wear heavy obvious makeup to the office for example - or at least the higher level professional women don't.

Thanks. I appreciate this. What type do you use? Do you do them yourself? How long do they last?

Thank you everyone for your input.
So it seems pretty unanimous that just for a close simcha that you would get makeup done or wear gown to, unless they are of the natural looking variety.
That was helpful!

I don't understand why anyone would wear obviously fake lashes for any reason to any occasion unless she were a show business performer or a hooker. And if the lashes are fake but look natural, then why would you even ask if ppl wear them? You'd wear them and no one would know.

In general many people wear "glam" makeup which is obviously makeup for dressy occasions.
So wearing false eyelashes that are obviously false is no different than eye makeup that is obviously eye makeup or a brighter lipstick.
For day most women have a more neutral natural look - Bobbi Brown used to specialize in this kind of make up look where the makeup enhances one's features but one doesn't look obviously made up.

I'm very sensory (or should I say sensitive?) can barely manage w mascara for a simcha. I'm sure I would hate them. Has anyone sensory manages to wear them?

It's not a requirement.
I know plenty of people who don't wear fake eyelashes even when glammed up.

I have no sensory problems, but the one time I tried on very very skimpy fake lashes--which I trimmed even further--I hated the feeling. Dumped the lashes and never bought another pair. It's ok. I'm managing to live a normal, productive life anyway. And no one has ever commented on my lack of fakes.
