Does no one else find that over 2-2.5 inches looks silly on women over 40? Especially ones hobbling around uncomfortably?

Hobbling around uncomfortably looks bad when you’re old enough not to be playing dress up in your mother’s old heels. That age would be closer to 10 than 40.

I learnt it’s more how you can handle it. As in are you struggling to walk in them and drawing attention to yourself….

Depends what kind of heel, stiletto or chunky?
Every woman regardless of age will look ridiculous if she can't walk properly in them.

So if I don’t struggle and I can pirouette like a ballerina in my four inch stilettos- then it’s fine?
I’ll call you out on that.
Struggling to walk in high heels looks ridiculous regardless of the heel height or the wearer’s age, but four inch stilettos don’t look modest on anyone no matter how gracefully she’s able to walk in them.

Did you know if you really like them you can achieve the same look with bright red nail polish? They say that’s how CL made his first pair pop.

I hope we’re not being ageist here. Lol! I just wore a three inch pair of heels to my dc’s vort with a very tznius dress and did not wobble even a bit. For reference, I’m a grandma!

What does age have to do with it Confused
If you can handle heels you can and if you can't you can't.
Heels are timeless and classic.
In the Frum world it's about Tznius

Imamother is more ageist than Hollywood.
They all wear heels there till their 80s for sure. You're fine.
In the outside world, people settle down and start families in the 30s and 40s and are called young moms. On imamother you start getting old then. You can't wear heels or bandfalls or whatever else anymore (I'm referencing actual threads).
Maybe bec when you start at 20 and you're 28 you think 36 is ancient.

I'm really not ageist. I just see women my age struggling to walk in inappropriate footwear. Usually the same ones wearing extremely long wigs that don't suit them. It's the trying too hard to appear younger. Embrace your age. But with slightly lower heels and shorter wigs please.

I’m over 40. Not especially stylish. But I love wearing heels to simchos. Anyways 40 is the new 30.
Many older women always wear heals. My mother wears every day to teach as does her principal and many ppl I know. For some women in their 60s it makes them feel dressed.

Ah yes, because at 40 you become decrepit and hobble around.
