Find a place that does gene site testing. It tells you which meds will work best for you and which aren't compatible. Its just a cheek swab completely painless. Though of course you need the correct diagnosis as well. If your treating ADHD but your child really has anxiety it will backfire. True story unfortunately. Make sure you have a current diagnosis. You should be doing a new eval every few years.
No way to actually know from clinical testing what's causing the symptoms unless someone's running neurotransmitter testing.

I fixed my son by fixing myself, through therapy.
It’s sad but true. I wasn’t giving him what he needed emotionally. He’s an exceptionally sensitive child and apparently this isn’t uncommon. I feel bad about all the years of struggle, but happy that I finally figured it out. No talk of medication anymore. (He is still an anxious kid, but it’s manageable)

Can you elaborate please
I have an exceptionally sensitive child who is also sensory and a bit anxious. I often wonder if I had better tools if she can be doing better...

do your kids willingly take meds?
my sweet daughter is super resistant to taking any medications, vitamins, homeopathy, etc.
It's a real battle and I think things would be easier if she would take them..
