If your husband got a bonus before Yom tov, what's his position and how much was it for?
I am a manger of a small team, work hard, and got a $400 bonus. My husband has a similar position and got a $1000 bonus.
Why the huge difference (over 50%)?
Is this a cultural thing, a sexist thing?
Disclaimer: it's not about the money! We only have a joint account so it's not like 'my money your money' type of thing. I'm just curious and think it's interesting.

I could be wrong because my husband and I are both teachers and dont really bonuses... But I think it's company dependent.
My husband got $100 from his boss for yom tov and I got nothing... But I get paid more than him, work for a bigger yeshiva...

Each business gives differently. How can you compare unless you work in the same place? Many didn’t get any bonus be grateful you both did.

Is it really unlimited? So you can swipe millions if you want?

Sometimes it’s for a specific project each person on it gets a bonus if it was extra successful. He can usually find out.

Jewish place.
No bonus for Yom Tov.
Usually $360 bonus around New Years.
That's it.
Some places give better bonuses than others
On the other hand, we got the insurance sign up information for next year, and they pay a very significant amount (90%) of spouse and family premiums.
So I guess that's really our bonus. To the tune of a couple of thousand dollars a year.

By my school the Rebbeim definitely get more than the Morahs. It’s a small bonus normally something like $100 for us or $250 for the men

I used to work for a Jewish company. They always gave bonuses yom tov time. Sometimes 500. Sometimes 1000. The last company I worked for gave us a honey cake for Rosh hashana and a cheesecake for Shavuos.

Yes it is sexist. Why do Rabbeim get huge tips from parents and not Morahs.

- do you work for the same company? One company bay gave done much better than the other?
- do you work the same hours or get paid the same amount? Is one part time or one full time?
Our company it’s a percentage of salary but also dependent on fill time vs part time. Part time workers get smaller percentage of their salary.
