I'm onboarding for a job and they sent me a health form to fill out and have signed by a provider. One of the questions asks if I'm pregnant or less than 6 weeks postpartum. Aren't they not allowed to ask about pregancy status? This is in NY btw

They can't ask when you're interviewing. But after you're hired I don't know.

They're allowed to ask, but they're not allowed to discriminate. On the contrary they can ask in order to accommodate. This is after you've been hired. If they would retract their offer at this stage you have grounds for suing them for discrimination

Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), employers are allowed to conduct medical inquiries of prospective employees after a job offer has been made, but before the employee is placed into the job in the post-hire phase.
