I was having a hard time backing into the driveway since the neighbor had parked his car in our shared driveway. My 8 year old asked me to let him out of the car and without prompting, he moved away the garbage cans near the garage door and proceeded to watch with his hands on his hips how in one swift movement I backed into the driveway. I got a thumbs up and a "well done mommy! I knew you could do it once the cans were not in your way!"

When DS was 3, Shabbos afternoon DD5 found him drawing on the doodle pad/etch-a-sketch.
She was telling him off that it's Shabbos and you aren't allowed to draw. He looks up at her very calmly and said 'its ok, I said Boruch Hamavdil' and continued to draw.

2 year old - she was saying made up gibberish and then all of a sudden stopped and looked at me "when you get as big as me then you will understand what I said"
Same kid - whenever she looks at pic's of her as a baby she asks "where is the baby in this pic?" " he was in your belly or he was in shamayim with hashem" " I think I missed him when he was there"

I had to inform DS7 about a tragedy, her school bus driver suddenly passed away. He was such a fatherly driver to the kids (he was mine too when I was little). It was a big shock and this was her response over the first day:
- I hope his family isn't too sad
- He was a really good driver, im so sad it happened to him
- I hope they are burying him in Israel so that he doesnt need to roll.................
- I hope the new driver will be as good as him, maybe even from his family, that learned how to be a good driver from him
Today, as we start school tomorrow she tells me
"I'm gonna make my first step on the bus tomorrow and I'm going to cry..."
I know it's a sad post but she is so pure and innocent, isn't she?
May his neshama have an aliya... I'm so sad he's gone

Just turned four years old:
Him: Mommy, would you still love me if I was a mosquito?
Me: Yes, even then.
Him: But would you love Mosquito Meir* more than you love Person Meir*?
Me: No, I'd love you the best as a person, because that's the way you are.
Him: But Mommy, you should really love me the best if I was a mosquito.
Me: ???? Why is that
Him: Because if I was a mosquito then my super big wings would give the biggest, softest hugs!

On Tisha bâav in the country shortly after the fast started I went out to look for my 4 year old. While outside I was talking to someone and see her coming out of my house holding sweet shabbos cereal. So I took her in and told her âIâm so sad that you took the cereal on your own without asking permission â she looks up at me and says
âwell itâs Tisha bâav today so youâre supposed to be sad!â
( I guess she was just trying to help me feel the day)

I was going to take my young dd along to the clothing store to shop for my teen.
YDD: What will I do if I can't find you?
Me: I'm not going to leave the store. If you can't find me, ask another mommy to help you. Tell her 'I can't find my mommy, Mrs. X..'
YDD: And then what? Should I say what you're wearing? 'My mommy's wearing.... Black... And black... And black..."
LOL!

New story about YDD. She is an early riser and went onto the stoop early in the morning when no one is outside. I told her she had to come in.
Me: YDD, you can't go outside, even on the stoop, when it's this early in the morning.. There is no one outside.
YDD: no one- just the birds?
