My theory is that she’s had a tummy tuck with repair of stomach muscles. Very small framed women can end up quite messed up from having children. That surgery has a surprisingly long recovery. You can’t stand upright properly for months.

You can hide a lot with shapewear and clothes. I have a friend with a tiny waist who had a tummy tuck so she didn’t have to worry about hiding her post partum (invisible to the naked eye) stomach any more. I actually think it’s often the tiny women who are more bothered by their bodies not being perfect.

She was photographed three months after the birth of her youngest child playing volleyball. Her shirt flew up and you could see her perfectly flat stomach. Kate is amazingly fit, which is another reason people are wondering about the monthslong recovery period.

FWIW, I also had a hysterectomy, spent 4-5 days in the hospital and another week or two till I was back to myself. Four months seems excessive for a hysterectomy.

Another reason for heightened speculation is that Prince William was supposed to attend a memorial ceremony this week for his godfather, and had a part to play in the service. He cancelled literally at the last moment - when the family were already on the way to church - for "personal reasons". This is very very unusual, and if it wasn't for a very serious reason it would be a major breach of etiquette and awfully rude. So something major must have happened and no surprise if people think it must have to do with Kate.

Maybe she had ivf, suffers from HG and was high risk? So she planned to stay away until second trimester
Maybe she had a loss so he canceled last minute?
Why do I care?! LOL LOL

I don't care either, but I am curious.

On the off chance that you were serious, I doubt someone with three kids whose husband doesn't want any more, and who suffers HG, would do IVF. But hey, you never know.

I don't know why people think that the wife of the heir to the throne of England (and mother of the next in line) has the luxury of sitting home for months. That's not how it really works. That's the American idea of a princess but when you join the royal family, your life is not really your own anymore. There are tons of social obligations and there is lots of work. This is not my personal opinion on what Catherine owes the public - which is absolutely nothing. It's an observation of what the institution expects that she owes to everyone. If she were resting up for months, they'd probably still have someone to assist her in thanking her well-wishers, and likely still manage to organise a picture or two here or there. That's not what's happening. From my perspective, she's a human and a mother to a few small children so I just hope they're all okay.

I realize that she has tons of social obligations and they're lots of work. I went back to work because I was afraid if I didnt I would have my electricity shut off and eventually lose my house. So yes comparatively she has the luxury of taking off and not worrying about that when she's really not well.

She's got three young kids. Maybe she is suffereing some minor post op complications and would rather reserve whatever energy she has for her kids rather than Royal duties.

And William prob stayed home becuase one of the kids needed a parent and Kate wasn't up to it.

And no one calls breasts 'Bubbies" or 'bobbies".

Lots of english people call their grandmothers that though.

people call breasts 'bo obs' or maybe 'bo obies'. But pronounced differently to Bubby. (which is usually in the singular anyway)

She's very sick (stomach cancer? Pancreatic cancer?) and doesn't want to be seen this way.
Since when does the palace have an issue with lying when the privacy of one of the royals will be jeopardized?

William canceled because it seemed like she's dying so he stayed behind.

No she doesn't have HG and isn't having another baby. She's not part of the frum community where this would have been a necessary thing to hide.

If she's hiding its related to looks that are impossible to repair for the media.

That's how my brain goes. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Wouldn't they have nannies or other people to care for the children? Is it expected that they are very hands on?

My perception of royalty is that they would have a lot of paid help, especially for the children.

Catherine, Princess of Wales has been raised in a wonderful and healthy family. That's what Prince William found so attractive about her. She puts her family first always. The media doesn't always respect that.

I would imagine that she is in fact recovering from something abdominal. She wouldn't lie. They are extremely consistant in the way that they do things and report news.

Prince William promised her parents before they married that she would be well taken care of and protected. I think Prince william insisted on an extended leave for her to recover in peace and dignity.

Giving birth is sometimes nothing like surgery. A close relative of mine recently had surgery. She was out of commission for 10 weeks whereas after her 8 births, she was up and about soon after.

t's so nice to see her being human for once. She is so stoic and a real inspiration. She has been advocating for mental health for years now and it's good to see her taking the right measures to get back to herself.

She doesn't deserve all this hate on Social Media. What has she done wrong? Some people take issue with her perfection. Perhaps it's jealousy. But her Uncle Gary has said that success doens't come naturally to her. She works hard and achieves.

Regarding her hair, she changed looks recently. You can see at the front her roots and the bangs are blown in a way that it bounces up and then back down so it makes it seem like a wig.

Catherine actually bucked royal trends by not getting a nanny until she went back to work after her maternity leave with George. She is a very involved mother and the nanny is definitely not a second mother to them. She fetches them from school herself and went tricks and treating with them. This is just a tiny glimps into their every day living but she is raising them differently to how previous royals did things.

You can see her close relationship and how in tune she is with her kids when they go out together in public. There is no faking it when it comes to kids. Compare it to William and Harry's childhood pics. So different.

Yes all this but she’s still a second mother to them. She took care of them every time Kate flew to other places for her job. She is the one probably caring for them now.

Nope. Catherine's mother steps in after her births, when she I away and mot likely now.

They have a nanny but I wouldn't call her a second mother. From from it.

Remember, she grew up like you and I. A commoner.

Kate's parents are not young. The nanny is most likely stepping in more than her parents.
