There are so many out there, so far I've tried A&B, Freunds and store made. I don't love any of them. I am trying to figure out if I simply don't go for gefilte fish or maybe there are some good ones out there which I haven't tried yet. I like when the fish is soft and without bones Which one would you recommend??

shindler's fish is delicious. I do not live in brooklyn so it hard to get. I like the Raskins sweet gefilte fish and the Ungers is good as well.

Are you talking the ready to eat store made ones, or the frozen loafs that you have to cook at home?

I buy whatever is cheapest/on sale. I don't eat fish and DH says he can't tell the difference between the different kinds anyway.

I hate the ready made ones... my grandma makes it according to my grandpa's sweet recipe. It's good for a fish lover, and soso to me.

I use A&B-- it's pricey, but we love it! Which is the brand that has bits of carrot in the frozen loaf?

So it looks like Raskins is somewhat popular. I haven't seen it in my grocery freezer section. Do they sell it in brooklyn?? Also, what hechsher do they have? I have tried the mealmart ones, It's too hard , So I'll try Ungars, maybe I'll like that.
Justanothermother, whats the texture of the Ungars? Is it soft? does it have a real fishy taste??

Raskin's is a local fish shop in C.H., but they DO export. Ungar's in the cheapest and uses the cheapest kinds of fish and fillers.

I use Shabbos Fish which isn't that helpful as it's also a Crown Heights brand and I don't know how widely they export.
DH loves the jarred fish though so often we get that and I eat fresh fish
