They rebranded a while ago. It's no longer the banned look. They don't have the s-xy models by the doors and crazy scent.
They started selling some nicer items like dresses for women.
I shop for my boys there a lot. They love the athletic polos and Sherpa sweatshirts. I also buy their coats. It's very popular brand amongst the frum in town kids.

I'm still not getting it. Whats the issue. Was it considered gay? Thinking about it more I probably started shipping there closer to 7 yrs ago, and I shopped online so I never noticed the models etc

lol what? we’re talking more like 20+ years ago, and it was provocative for an aidel frum girl to carry a bag with a half naked man on it.

If you are around my age, (32) and grew up in the golden age of malls, meaning you were in high school from around 2004-2012, then you wouldn’t even have this question. I’m assuming you are either younger or older than that.
Abercrombie was nothing short of a phenomena. It wasn’t just a store, it was a lifestyle
And yes, I wasn’t allowed to step in there (of course I did though) |
Haha you’re cute but no the aughts were not the heyday of the mall, malls were already in major trouble by then. The real heyday was the 80s and 90s into the very early aughts. I’m 40 and I caught the tail end of the heyday. Gap, Old Navy, Abercrombie, Wet Seal, Bath and Body Works were among the cool stores.

Shirtless male models all over the walls and on the bags (no options of plain bags), dim lights, pumping music, heavy cologne (if you made a return they would smell it to make sure it still smelled like their cologne!!)
Man anyone who shops online is missing out lol
