The disparity between the what the parents are charged and what the nit checkers are paid is a nice cash influx for the school. It comes at the beginning of the year. I am guesstimating a profit of $30,000 this year for the girls school I send to.

So my daughter comes home with a note from school asking for $35 to have her hair checked (like every year). Then she said that the school said they are not going to check until every child brings in the money. Frankly I think that if they are making it mandatory they shouldn't charge for it. Between tuition, buying school supplies and giving more money to the school for more school supplies I'm just about done spending money.

If theyre not going to check until everyone brings in the money then thats fine with me. Dont check for nits and ill save $70+ (I have other kids in the school). They spend 5 minutes max on each kid and use nothing more than a pencil. So why are they even charging that much?
Is that $35 per year, or per check?
And how many times a year do them check?

$35 per year per kid. $65 for family. I think they only check once or twice a year.
