We definitely see something wrong with social media. Not everyone does, but not everyone who is modox is the same, just like how not all chabad people are the same.

It is easy to generalize. But I live in Israeli in a dati torani community, which is similar to right wing Modox and the girls here don't have social media, people don't have tvs, etc. But there are other communities where things are different.

If your goal is to completely avoid secular influence, then modox may not be the way to go. Many modox feel that you can be religious and secular influences can contribute if done properly. If that isn't your way that's valid, but their way can be valid too.

As an ex-Londoner I know what the poster meant by that. Modox is NOT secular. However the schools in question (I can think of 2 meeting this description) have Modern Orthodox administration but the families run the gamut, many not religious at all.

At Hasmonean, on the other hand, the hanhala is not modern but the families often are. But everyone is meant to be shomer shabbat and kashrut and boys and girls are separate schools.

FYI most English schools, even secular ones, do not allow "unnatural" hair colors. The uniform codes at many schools are quite strict. No jewelry except a pair of ear studs and watch, hair pulled back if long, regulation shoes & tights to go with uniform, no make-up or nail polish.

OP by polarised I mean that their intake is narrow, one specific type, not as open as eg Hasmo which has a broader catchment.

With real respect, it seems that you haven't caught certain nuances or maybe you've caught them but don't approve of them and don't want to conform and I don't think coming to Israel is the solution.

Schools offer a service, they all have rules and catchment criteria. There are very few schools who are as frum as you say you want and also allow the lateral movement that you want.

Do you have a family Rav in London who can advise you?
