girlsmom, question: are you and family not hungry when don't have a starch? are your kids full from just fish, and salad, if they eat it, and soup? I feel I always need a starch, is it just me?!

my baby nurses and my 1.5 year old is fine with whatever I serve her b''h. I always serve bread with every meal so I guess that covers starch.
well, dh won't be home tonight so I will eat cereal. I won't be home tomorrow night so dh will probably make himself a sandwich.
wednesday- baked flounder with rice and veggies
thursday- dh comes home very late so we usually just eat sandwiches. but I might end up making turkey burgers and baked fries if it's not going to be such a late night.
I usually have no clue (and as you can see, I only have 2 meals planned) but at this time of the year, I'm systematically emptying my freezer and pantry of certain items, so I know my options are limited.
I don't have my exact menu, but I ususally follow a pattern of:
sunday, leftovers-chicken
monday, s/t of red meat (pepper steak, chopped meat etc.)
tuesday, s/t fish
wed-s/t with chicken cutlets
thursday-pizza
Sun--leftover chicken/turkey soup with noodles, roast chicken, veggie sticks
Mon--egg pasta with sauteed mushrooms, greenbeans. Need to make chicken and rice out of leftover soup/chicken and freeze.
Tue--need to do something with old cherry tomatoes and fennel bulbs sitting in the fridge, will probably defrost salmon patties (homemade last week when I got cheap fresh salmon).
Wed--kids invited for playdates/supper, DH fed at kollel. Yey! I'll probably have cheese toast with baked beans.
Thu--definitely not meaty. probably lentil and rice (DH and I love it, kids hate it) with boiled eggs.
We got a nice watermelon, strawberries on reduced price, nectarines in the market so plenty of choice for fresh fruits as dessert.
Sunday-leftovers from Shabbos for me & husband, cold cut sandwhiches for kids
Monday-baked ziti for kids and Smackin good potato knishes and J&J frozen cheese blintzes for husband since he doesn't like pasta
Tuesday-Schwarma, w.w. pitas and veg. salad
Wednesday-fried breaded flounder, brown rice and canned corn-kids eat rice with milk and sugar/cinnamon mixture
Thurday-bbq-franks,hamburgers,buns,sliced tomatoes,pickles.
I follow a pattern of sun-leftovers
Monday-milichigs (for main-pancakes,cheese latkes,eggplant parmesan,lukshen cheese kugel,homemade pizza,homemade calzones,macaroni & cheese.I usually serve it with a milichige potato soup or milichige mushroom barley soup)
Tuesday-fleishigs main-chicken cutlets,ground turkey patties,meatballs, meat loaf.sides-mashed potatoes,couscous,sphaghetti, brown rice,baked potatoes.
Wed-fish/pareve (baked salmon with mayonnaise and garlic powder, flounder, tuna patties, fish sticks in w.w. pitas, amnons frozen falafel balls in w.w. pita, salad and/or one of sides from above( if no pita).
Thursday-in winter chicken with potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots or chicken and rice baked together in one pan. in summer bbqs
Sunday - corn nuggets and chicken soup with lukshen (I know, very balanced and filling, but we go to the ILs most Sundays and the kids fill up on nosh, so our main meal on Sunday is actually lunch.)
Monday - stir fried vegetables with marinated grilled tofu squares on a bed of taglierini (dh and I loved it; kids wouldn't touch it)
Tuesday - pepper steak over brown rice, hopefully
Wednesday - tuna patties, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach
Thursday - don't know yet
