Last week I paid $2.59 for 18 eggs which is about $1.73 a dozen. In Maryland.
But that is the cheapest I've seen. Most places are selling for more, even the cheaper store is up this week to $2.69 for a dozen. Trader Joe's has been around 2.99 a dozen, Walmart is $4.53 a dozen. My local store is more than $6 a dozen.

In Kosher stores near me the large is more money then XL
It used to be that kosher stores had cheaper eggs then non-kosher ones so I am used to buying `XL

I have a question. It’s not like eggs are out of stock. There is enough in the grocery. And most people are not really cutting down on it since it’s a staple. I don’t understand why the prices are so high. Is it be because they have less of an oversupply so the egg companies have less competition and are making more profit?

5.99 dozen extra large.
The non jewish chain stores eggs are smaller, you need to use more per recipe so it doesn't come out much cheaper.
