seriously! I can’t deal! It’s suffering. Walking from my house to my car to drive carpool I was wearing a shell and a sweater and a coat and three pairs of socks and boots and leggings and a skirt and gloves and I feel like crying because of how frigid I am. I can’t breathe. I feel like my skin is dying and my
Fingers and toes are numb and going to fall off. And buckling the kids in. And going to the grocery store and walking to the car. I just can’t deal. I come home and sit in front of a space heater drinking a hot drink for like 45 minutes until my body regulates. I literally can’t deal. I have untreated thyroid issues so maybe that’s contributing. I run cold in general but the winter is literally SUFFERING.
Anyone relate? Have products they can recommend? I just bought hot pockets for pockets and shoes. I am considering a battery operated heated vest for under my coat. I am considering boots made for Siberia (literally. This isn’t a joke). Would love recommendations for your best warm accessories and hacks.

Where are you located? I mean it’s cold but this seems kind of extreme and I walked around for over an hour today.

Can you warm your car before you go inside? Even if it means an extra trip outdoors?

Why do you have untreated thyroid issues? That's a bigger concern honestly

Baltimore. We just had a snowstorm. It’s 25 degrees right now.

Because when I’m on medication I get heart palpitations even on the lowest dose. So I’d rather have low thyroid than heart issues.

I have heard the battery operated vests are good. Definitely worth a try, you're really suffering.

And yes the wind makes it worse. And I try to stay inside as much as possible.

In Brooklyn we had 25 degrees today too.
I also can’t deal with the cold and I’m thankful I don’t do carpool or go to work.
I hibernate with my baby

Eat. Hot drinks are great but your body heat comes from the chemistry in thick, heavy, solid food.
If you are cold, you need a real external heat source, not just to conserve your body's own heat with warm clothes.

Get yourself one of the Canadian brand coats and boots, the ones they use for Antarctica exploration. I'm serious. They cost more but they run hot and last forever.

Take iodine drops for your thyroid. Naturally not medicine with side effects.

Fleece lined thermal tights are good. On amazon. Buy them large.

Yes, Canadian companies. Also thermal undershirts and pants. A warm hat. Maybe Google what else Canadian companies make for keeping warm.

Find a new doctor. There are a few treatment options. But leaving things as is is damaging to your health.
The level of cold you're feeling from home to car is not normal even for the weather outside.

Maybe even 2 layers - thermal pants and fleece tights/leggings on top.

Invest in some quality outerwear
There’s a brand 66 degrees north it’s for people living in Iceland where it’s cold and super windy. Also if you buy real thick wool socks and sweater should help a lot. I think that brand sells as well.
It’s pricey but should last many winters and you’ll get your moneys worth
