Hi
My 5 yo who recently stopped wearing pullups at night has come to me once or twice in the night after wetting his bed.
He actually came to me and says "my pullup leaked!"
What do I do?
He has been so good about going to the bathroom at night.
I cant see any patterns as to why its happening.
What is normal to do?
I dont think I should tell him off.
He usually wakes up himself and goes.
I changed his sheet or dump a towel and tell him to go to the bathroom, sometimes he says he doesnt need after.
Any advice appreciated?
Not my first, I have older kids but I cannot remember dealing with it.

Doesnt sound like he was ready to sleep without one. Id tell him to sleep in underwear you need to stay dry we are putting a pull up back on until you stay dry for xyz amount of days..
Not sure why it came off to begin with...
Personally I think pull ups are an expensive crutch I keep children in diaper until transition..

It is still age appropriate & normal for a 5 year old to be wetting at night. My kids stay in diapers for the night till they're dry for 1 month straight.

Yes, hes been dry for a good few weeks even before he was wearing underwear.

Going to sleep late on chanuka? Drinking closer to bed because of chanuka?
Telling off is certainly not ok. No one wets the bed on purpose.
Sometimes they relapse. If it keeps happening tell him to go back to wearing pull-ups until he’s dry for 4 days in a row. Tell him it’s ok. Mommy is not upset.

My kids each had a long period of occasional wetting before being dry for good.
If it's from completely dry to wet every day & kid is acting off they may have strep.

Tell him matter of fact, it’s not a punishment, we’re going back to pull-ups until you’re dry for x nights. If he protests tell him we can try underwear again and if it happens again then it’ll be pull-ups after that. But not a punishment, just this happens sometimes and it means we need pull-ups for a little longer, no big deal.
