Want to buy my kids Lego sets for YK. I always buy the Lego Friends but the knockoffs are way cheaper. But I don't want to end up with junk?
Anyone ever bought an off brand?
If yes, which?
Was it good?

Yes I have from totally toys. Like any knockoffs some are amazing and some are not. The instructions are not as clear as lego but my some had no complaints.

I’ve bought too many off brand Lego car sets from Amazon that went straight into the hat he because they had awful instructions and were just garbage.

We have not had great luck with off brand lego. The more complicated sets don't stay together. And the people fall apart.
It is surprising that no one has figured out how to make an amazing knock off. Like magna tiles has so many great competetors, not sure why lego can't be similar!

I bought this set. My son likes plain bricks and some other knockoff sets. But he says that the Lego mentchies look weird

We have bought a few different brands and like above posters said they have all gone into the garbage. And they came along with tears and frustration at the difficulty of the directions and pieces not staying together.
I would say if you don't want to spend the money on real LEGO, it's probably more worth it to find a cheaper toy instead

Mega is a real brand and it's not much cheaper than Lego
I consider a real Lego set a good value if it's ten cents per piece or cheaper.
So a 300 piece set should be less than $30.

Terrible no matter which off brand it is. Never matches right to lego. Sets come with missing pieces broken pieces or bad instructions. If you'd like to test your patience by having a very fusturated child then it's a great idea!
Duplo size off brands can work but doesn't sound like that's what you looking for
