Hi, I'll y"h be traveling with 2 active kids ages 4 and 6 overseas. I'm going with a stop because I felt like it would be too hard for them to sit through so long but everything has it's pros and cons...
Also I'm an anxious and stressed traveler and can't sleep on a plane.
I'd like to get tips to make it easier, links to items that can be useful and links to entertainment.
As the chagim are approaching this might be useful to all the people traveling to Israel.
Thank you!

There’ll do great. Perfect ages to be occupied with screens.

Lollipops. Bring bags and bags of lollipops. No joke!
At least to deal with tantrums when you really need to have your attention elsewhere. (Used only for emergencies).

Lots of snacks in prepackaged bags, try to have a balance of treats but also some more nutritious food, so they don't go crazy from sugar and junk. Also nutritious food for you so that you are functional. Refillable water bottles (just watch out, when you open the straw on the plane for the first time, the pressure change makes water squirt out quite far. First open the whole lid to let out the pressure, then the straw) a change of clothes/pjs for each kid, in a Ziploc bag with the air squeezed out.
A lot of small, random toys/activities. I find that when you pull out something new once in a while, they are happy to play with the other toys/activities in between. Stickers, small playdough set, activity books, Melissa and Doug travel things are good, color wonder, random chatchkes from the dollar store, screen time

Bring an empty water bottle to use for airplane drinks. Less spills.
Bring a coloring book, a few travel toys and headphones. I do a briefcase with activities and snacks for each kid.

I pack special bookbags for each of my children that they can only open in the airport or on the flight. Inside are new things, like coloring books themed to where we're going, headphones, a tablet, Nintendo switch with games, box of chocolates, snacks, sensory toys like squishable spaghetti or new figurines. Add in some extra small toys and they're usually good to go. Each bag has a neckroll and travel blanket attached to the outside. Food goes into the yeti, carried by DH. We try not to let devices too much in general but it's free reign on a flight. Between ordering cokes from the flight attendant, going to the bathroom and browsing through every movie and game on the built in screen, the time moves quickly. Longest flight we ever did was 16 hours (back to NY from Dubai). We recently flew back from France and 7 hours felt short. Just try to stay calm...
