How old is the baby? Newborn that is easy to take along, or young toddler that you might want to gear some of the activities towards them?

lake placid, finger lakes, maine (it's drive-able but quite far) new hampshire, vermont, poconos, lancaster, hunter, connecticut, rhode island..which of these places interest you? I've been to most of these (with that age) and can tell you what there is to do in each...

Long beach is nice and not too far. And there's kosher food
