I found a cholent recipe given to me by a friend that contains directions to make "jakoi," which seems to be kishke balls/drops. I have never heard this word before, though, and am wondering where it comes from. (I don't speak Yiddish or any Eastern European languages.)
Does anyone know anything about it? Thank you!

I add jachnun from the company taamti, found in the freezer section of the grocery, to my chulent. It’s like a doughy thing in the shape of a log. I wonder if this is what they’re referring to.

We got jachnun from the covid food boxes and couldn’t figure out what to do with it. What’s it like in Cholent?
