So, I have failed to find "whitefish" to make homemade gefilte fish 1in Israel. I did, however, see ground Bakla (cod/hake) in the store. I was wondering if anyone ever used it for gefilte fish before. I don't want to use carp, because I prefer the taste of a white fish. The flesh of the Bakla is much whiter than carp and even Nilus. I'm thinking it might work. Anyone have experience with it?
