To say something "bombed" generally means that it went very badly. I would be sensitive about using bomb in a casual way atm tbh. It seems disrespectful to those running to the miklat all the time.

Please don't use the word bombed. As other said it means it flopped. It's not a positive expression. Maybe 30 years ago pp would say that was da bomb and it meant awesome. Not anymore.
I do think you should do something different, not the shoes.
