Because newborns aren't meant to be self soothing

Oh gosh, how some threads spiral Rolling Eyes

I came here to say thank you for the Mam suggestion - he's definitely more willing to take them!

To those who don't approve of my 'paci culture', feel free to skip this thread. Gosh!

OP, pacis can be thrown in the trash when the child needs to be done with them thumbs/fingers can't.
Trust me, my kids have sucked their thumbs till quite late(9, 10,11)

Not when it’s harmful to the mother’s mental health. When I had a newborn on me for the majority of the day so they wouldn’t cry I was starting to go crazy from being stuck on my bed. Pacis are a helpful tool, that’s all
Glad the MAMs work better. I also heard they’re apparently n oh t as bad for oral development as other brands

On this topic I 100% am pro- pacifier! A couple of times I've seen kids on the bus sucking their thumb when and they were like far too old to do that.

My first 5 I tried every paci out there and none of them took any.

Baby number 6 took a bibs paci beautifully on day 1.

I really think some babies like them and some just don't. That being said I couldn't believe how much easier life is with a baby that takes a pacifier!
