Oh gosh, how some threads spiral
I came here to say thank you for the Mam suggestion - he's definitely more willing to take them!

OP, pacis can be thrown in the trash when the child needs to be done with them thumbs/fingers can't.
Trust me, my kids have sucked their thumbs till quite late(9, 10,11)

Not when it’s harmful to the mother’s mental health. When I had a newborn on me for the majority of the day so they wouldn’t cry I was starting to go crazy from being stuck on my bed. Pacis are a helpful tool, that’s all
Glad the MAMs work better. I also heard they’re apparently n oh t as bad for oral development as other brands

On this topic I 100% am pro- pacifier! A couple of times I've seen kids on the bus sucking their thumb when and they were like far too old to do that.

My first 5 I tried every paci out there and none of them took any.
Baby number 6 took a bibs paci beautifully on day 1.
I really think some babies like them and some just don't. That being said I couldn't believe how much easier life is with a baby that takes a pacifier!
