Most office work type jobs you won't be able to get until you have a full mastery of Hebrew without a strong accent, which is difficult for most adults.
Nursing home field unless youre willing to work American hours.
Anything that requires licensing that you can't just transfer. It doesn't make financial sense for people 5-10yrs into their profession to have to start certification from scratch, typically in another language, and then be paid like a beginner again. Think lawyers, accountants, brokers, trades, etc

School nurse (there is something called school nurse in Israel, but she works for a company, not 1 school, and every day goes to different school to do vaccines, height & weight, vision check, etc). Israeli schools don't have a nurse there most of the time, which is too bad.
School cafeteria lady (in Israel schools will often have a small chips/candy stand, but it's more like a teeny mini market. Some schools bring hot catered food for the kids, but the food comes in boxes to each classroom, there is no cafeteria)

Same here.
Nothing special but my job can buy me an amazing lifestyle in my country vs something much simpler in Israel, IF I LEARN THE LANGUAGE.
Would you consider it crazy to still move?

This thread is not about judgement. I just have no idea what jobs dont exist here. I finished uni and made aliyah right after that so I have no concept of what jobs dont exist in this country.

Think lawyers, accountants, brokers, trades, etc | Just so you know, Ive worked in different offices, english speaking ones, for the last 2 decades. They do exist. And even in hebrew speaking ones, without an accent? Nope. I go to a wonderful dentist office. They have many secretaries. A few are ery much american. And you can hear it in their hebrew. No problem.

In some cases yes and in some not at all.
Ill just tell you, my husband got a job a few years after he made aliyah. He had no hebrew yet. But they saw what he could do and what he knew and they hired him. It was hard for him at first without the hebrew, but over time, he was there for 9 years, his hebrew improved so much. So it can be a possibility.

Im not trying to start another debate. Thats not what this thread is.

All the lawyers and accountants I know here work for US firms which have branches in Israel and do very well.
They don't need to recertify.

A lot of the Manhattan jobs. Like those giant companies that have tons of various jobs. Can’t think of any of those people I know finding that position in Israel.
