This is a spin off of all of the time that women here say their or their husband's jobs dont exist here.
Im just wondering what jobs dont exist in Israel?

This thread is not about judgement. I just have no idea what jobs dont exist here. I finished uni and made aliyah right after that so I have no concept of what jobs dont exist in this country.

Anyone?

Im not going to answer for myself because its a very unique job but I will say that many jobs which are decent here are not at all in israel. My husband is a school psychologist earns a decent salary plus pension etc if he were to move to israel his degree barely exists and certainly can’t support a family on that income

I have heard that there aren’t many (any?) podiatrists in Israel.
But to me that would seem like a great opening!

Right, nurse practitioner doesn't exist here.
I think it's an American thing. I know of one who made aliya and told me that there is no such profession here.
I'm not sure if it exists in Europe either.

It shouldn’t exist anywhere
Another way of dumbing down medicine like going to urgent care
Nothing personal I’m sure there are some amazing health practitioners
But it lets in a lot of mediocre as well with few skills and a lot of power

Whats the difference between nurse and nurse practitioner?
And yes, I know that PA is not really a thing here. I know that NBN tried to start a course or something for that but I dont know if it ever got off the ground.

I have definitely seen more than 1 podiatrist in my years living here. It exists.
Maybe the salary is lower than one could make in ch"ul but it definitely exists.

NP and PA do not exist here.
Maybe if someone's husband is in commercial real estate and doesn't speak Hebrew and can't do that remotely, she would say his profession doesn't exist here?
Merchant cash advance?
Nursing home administrator?

Right, I know, but that was not my question. There aer always women saying that they cant come because their job or their husband's jobs dont exist. So I was just wondering what jobs dont exit here.

I do t know how the salaries compare, but my friend us a school psychologist here in Israel, and she earns a comfortable salary.

Not speaking Hebrew would be a barrier.

Very broadly, wider training and qualifications. Nurse practitioners can prescribe medications (within certain limits), build treatment plans with access to resources that a regular nurse can't, and more advanced technical skills. My friend who is a nurse practitioner is allowed to stitch wounds. I'm not. A lot varies according to the speciality. There are a few in Israel, but so far it hasn't really got off the ground.

I think chiropractor is not a recognised qualification in Israel. They exist, but only privately, and have almost always trained in chutz l'aretz.

They will very rarely do procedures like removing ingrown toe nails. They just tell you to soak... You basically need to go to an Anglo one to do basic procedures.

Yes, Hebrew is essential, but that doesn't mean the job doesn't exist. Just that you need to work on language skill.

Whenever here ask about how to prepare for aliyah, I tell them to work on their Hebrew. English is an asset, but only when combined with functional Hebrew.
