The way I made them this week came out soooo good. I sauteed in olive oil - a few cloves minced garlic, one small onion in 1/2 slices, 1/2 red pepper (diced), cook until pretty soft and add 1-2 tsp of a soy marinade (I used a garlic sesame one which is sweet) and then add your green beans (I used frozen whole) but only mix, don't cook long. When I reheat it, it cooks more and gets overdone if cooked too far beforehand. I also dry roasted in a frying pan, 1/4 C slivered/sliced almonds and add them when serving. Yummy!

what's oniony chicken
and what's garlic purple cabbage salad.
I would love the recipes please!
thanx

The oniony chicken is from quick and kosher (lol this week I changed my mind last minute and we didn't even end up having that- we had the coca cola chicken instead!) but here's the recipe for the oniony chicken-

1/4 c. olive oil
3 T. Osem onion soup mix, divided
3 large onions, thinly sliced
3 1/2 lb chicken, cut up
1 T. paprika
1 t. black pepper

Preheat oven to 375. In a medium bowl, mix oil, 1 T. of onion soup mix and onions. Place about a quarter of the mixture in a lightly greased 9x13 pan. Place onions in pan, and chicken on top. Season chicken with remaining 2 T of onion soup mix, paprika and pepper. Scatter remaining onion mix on and around chicken. Bake uncovered for 1 hr or until chicken in browned.

The garlic purple cabbage salad is a recipe that a friend of mine gave me. I know thatchocolate moose has something similar on the site but I don't remember the exact recipe or where it was.

Mrs. U's Garlic Purple Cabbage Salad

2 bags purple cabbage
onion garlic mini croutons
1/2 red pepper diced
1/2 yellow pepper diced
1/2 orange pepper diced
handful grape tomatoes, halved
slivered almonds:
2 Tbsp sugar disolved in 1-2 Tbsp canola oil. Mixed slivered almonds over LOW fire. Turn until roasted- WATCH

Dressing:
1/4 c. olive oil
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. ketchup
1 t. paprika
1 t. mustard
1/2 t. salt
1 clove garlic, minced

Don't dress until right before serving and be generous with the croutons- (also put in right before serving cuz they get soggy)

That purple cabbage salad was delicious!! Big hit, here. (Is it the same dressing recipe for the ketchup salad with lettuce?)
