I'm not sure where you live but as someone who used to live in London and NY and now lives in a third world country, you totally get used to it. Somehow, I don't know why, the garbage doesn't smell if it's changed daily and it becomes less gross.

There is NO such thing as a flushable wipe. I know someone who had a several thousand dollar bill because a guest used flushable wipes (guest was staying for more than a few days and the plumber found the wipes in the system). There was a whole expose on them a few years back with pictures of what a pipe system looked like when people flushed wipes down. Be glad you have not experienced that.

But never use a wipe in someone else's home!!

There was never a backup? As I said earlier I live in a relatively new house (about 20 years old and the only time we had a backup was when a flushable wipe got stuck on a rough piece of pipe and blocked everything else from going down. The person who flushed didn’t have issues, but I had sewer coming up in my basement bathtub and out of that toilet that I had to clean because of them! It was horrible!!

Obviously the $30 amazon bidet is not the same thing as the $400 item. And I'm pretty sure the cheap amazon bidet doesn't need a plumber to hook it up. Works well. We have one.

I have a Toto washlet and absolutely love it.

It has a drying function that dries you.

it has a setting for women that cleanses forward.

It rinses the bowl down with E-water so my toilet is essentially setf cleaning.

It was expensive but worth every penny - it has been working without an issue for more than 7 years at this point. So cost per day is pennies - not to mention the savings on wipes and toilet paper Very Happy

It is also very soothing since you don't have to rub a lot to clean yourself - just lovely warm water.

If you are asking about my Toto washlet, there is a tankless water heater so there is an infinite supply of warm water as soon as you activate the bidet function.

The warm water is especially soothing if I have had any kind of gastric distress and I imagine wouid be wonderful if you had hemorrhoids or a chronic condition.

Other bidets have different functionality.

Mine has a warm heated seat as well. Very Happy
