Really want to go away for a few days, would love a warm, beach type of vacation. But I’ll be in my 8th month, so I’m a bit nervous to travel to Mexico etc. any good ideas besides Miami?

Go to Miami. It’s great and there are good hospitals if you need.

I traveled with my grandfather when I was pregnant with my oldest. DH was away on business somewhere snowy and my grandfather was looking for a travel partner somewhere warm. We agreed that it made no sense to travel anywhere with subpar medical care due to both his and my needs at the time. We ended up going to LA and had a great time going to museums and eating out. Miami is another good option as long as it's not yeshiva week. So is Arizona if you're ok with warmth without the beach. Go somewhere warm with kosher restaurants so you can relax, but South or Central America is probably not the smartest idea for you right now.

I have family in LA so I’ve been there quite a few times…I would go to Miami. My husband really would rather not…was wondering if I can come up with something else. So far doesn’t seem like it. Let’s see if the night crowd of imas can think of something!

How about not Miami other parts of Florida like the keys. Definitely do not go to Mexico in your 8th

I was thinking about the keys after going down the Google rabbit hole but I don’t know anyone who’s ever been there. Do you know anything about it?

Miami’s really the only beach in the continental us that is beach weather in the winter.

I've been to Key West and done the full round-trip drive from Miami through all the Keys, though there are direct flights from NYC to Key West. It's definitely a lot less crowded than Miami and has a very different vibe. Your food options there are also much more limited, as there's only one kosher place (Mam's). But the weather should be nice and there are some interesting attractions there and several beaches to enjoy.

The west coast of FL isn’t too bad this time of year. And a little further up on the east coast too. They’re all about the same right now- high 60s-low 70s.

I would not want to deliver or have an emergency and need to go to a hospital in the keys….

I’m not sure what’s available to tourists after the storms this summer, but:
Naples
Sanibel
Marco Island
Sarasota
Fort Meyers
St. Petersburg

Not as hospital friendly as Miami though. Honestly in your 8th month with so many germs around now you should probably do a local staycation OP.

I’m in the same boat as OP. What would you suggest as local options in the tri-state area?
