I don't have a great nickname, but like other posters, I wanted to give you chizzuk. I named a DD after my FIL's mother. She was the only name we had, and I didn't love it. It's not a weird name and I decided to use it.
I am so, so glad I did. It fits DD perfectly, and DD is amazing. I can't believe I once didn't like this name. You will grow to love the name because you love DD.

Shulamis is a beautiful name. If you need a nickname I would do Molly and not Missy. Shulamis or as a second name is lovely.

It’s also a nickname for Michal. It’s a nickname, it can be used for anything.

I needed to add a name and chose Shulamis. I chose it for the meaning, and I love it. I find it so meaningful, even now.

Whats the big deal if people dont know the real name?
Mimi has a much to do with miriam as it does with shulamis, its just miriam is 1000x more common so thats what you think of.
For example. My brother is called Eli. What's his name?
Nope not that one. Not that one either. Who cares. His name is rare. The nickname is cute.
