Please do not give up this holy privilege and opportunity to a bunch of anonymous strangers, or anyone else for that matter.
The mother of the baby is given ruach hakodesh on what to name her child. This should be your dh’s and your decision alone.

There are a lot of guys named Tom in certain parts of Israel. It comes from the English name Tom. It’s not a Hebrew or Jewish name.
I find it strange because Thomas was one of the disciples of Jésus, but people don’t necessarily make the historical connection. There are a lot of Nimrods in Israel. Hagar and Moav are used too. |
A name can exist in different languages. Liam is a Hebrew name. It also exists in Irish. My grandma actually asked what Tom is and was given the answer but I don't remember.

Having said that, if you decide to call your baby Jason or any non Jewish name, Christopher, Austin, Jared, Liam, Oliver or Tom, there’s no particular matching Hebrew name. You can give whatever Hebrew name you want. |
Please don't even consider giving a Jewish child the name Christopher. Worse than Jason.

Tom can mean innocence or completion/end. It is a Hebrew name but not a traditionally Jewish one.
