I start preparing for shabbos on sunday, or at least thinking of shabbos when grocery shopping and such.

I say lekavod shabbos and I thought it was a good thing. never heard to wait till friday morning.

I soak them in a container with ammonia. Take them out again one day next week to wash them with water and soap.

Dh was ready to clean up last night after the last lights went out, but it made me sad to think of having no menorahs for the rest of Chanukah (later part of last night and today - never mind that no one was home today...) so they're still here. I just got home, he's working late as well as all day tomorrow, so we'll see who and how and when it happens.

Nope. Mine is lit at the moment. Our custom is to light again end of zos Chanukah w/o bracha.

Put all glass cups in a ziplock bag. Pour ammonia in bag. It doesn't need to be covered in ammonia, the fumes will do the job. Close ziplock and wait overnight.
I'm the morning rinse, the black will fall right off.

My husband cleans the glasses and all the burnt wicks and other stuff he saves and burns with the Chametz
