My husband has a name that works for a boy or girl so people would probably just think it’s my name and that would be confusing lol
But I personally just find it to be something private. Like I would maybe get his name engraved in the inside of a ring or maybe even on the back of a bar chain necklace but something for everyone to see just feels like showing off to me.

I wouldn’t not because I think there’s something wrong with it but because it’s not my taste I have a very unique taste in jewelry and most people won’t wear my jewelry.

It's to keep his name close to my heart just like I would wear my kids names |
Lol this sounds like Carrie Bradshaw rationalizing
I wouldn’t NOT do it, but your excuse of keeping each other close to your heart is bs

Its a little too dom/sub for me. I don't know anyone that does it. I read an article once about a [filth] star that had a neck tattoo that said "property of x" and it was gross

Haha ok I got my answer. I think it's sweet but that's fine if it's an unpopular opinion.

I think it's a very sweet idea but not a popular one for all the things already mentioned. I wear a necklace every day with my children's names, so I get the concept, but for one reason or another a it doesn't translate the same for a spouse.

If I see someone wearing a name, I assume it's their name. So if it's a man's name I might thing she has a weird name.

If this was commonly done I wouldn't have an issue doing it. It's just not done, so I think it's weird to do and wouldnt do it . Those names in script are the person wearing the necklaces name not someone elses name.

What do you mean "have his name close to your heart"? Does that actually have any significance?
It sounds childish.
I mean, say I ask a heart surgeon to do surgery and place a paper with my dhs name literally on my heart. Would we be more connected than we are now?

Thanks everyone!
I didn't think of all the reasons mentioned and that's what I was looking for.
Will wear it tucked in

Yeah, like I think of him throughout the day when I see it.
And that sounds dangerous, I wouldn't recommend

Remember when an actress was wearing her husband’s blood in a vial around her neck? This is not quite so creepy but it gives slightly similar vibes I think.
ETA I do think the sentiment is very sweet and it’s really nice you that you want to share your feelings with the world.

My friend wears one that says Moshe. Her name is Masha and her parents are BT and spelled it wrong in Hebrew. Poor girl.
I would either wear it close to my heart, under my shirt, or with other names as well. To wear just him just seems unusual , not wrong or bad, but more like OK, you do you. Feels kind of like property of. Are you blessed with children? Can you add their names along with his. That would be more typical.

I wouldn't wear it even inside. It's not my name, and the first association that comes to mind is the tag on a dog's collar that provides his owner's address, or maybe a luggage tag on a suitcase. As a pp said, you're not his property, why are you wearing a tag with his name? Is he wearing a matching tag with your name? The only way I would wear such a thing would be if it said "in emergency, call DHname, xxx-xxx-xxxx."

I don't know what you mean, but you are definitely very rude. You owe OP an apology.
Even though I voted No, I think the idea is very cute and it's adorable that you want to keep DH close to your heart and if is the way you express it, go ahead!

Is wearing a pendant with your own name also a dog tag?
What about people who wear hashem’s name?
Or your kid’s?
They’re all the same idea. Someone I love.
It’s just a little too pda for an orthodox person.

amother Petunia wrote: | No OP, very very strange. It gives dom/sub vibes which is a kink that this website won’t let me describe. And besides for that, it’s tacky and weird. Too weirdly immature and mushy. The type of thing an infatuated kallah might do for her chosson and all the adults will roll their eyes and laugh. I can’t imagine anyone have anything but a very awkward reaction when they realize you’re wearing a necklace with your husbands name. Absolutely not don’t do it unless you are very strange and don’t care if people think of you as very strange. | Not exactly D/s but it sounds like a kink. Like the couples that brand (tattoo) each other's names on themselves. At least this is just a necklace.

Thank you ❤️
I think it's sweet, my husband is touched that I got it and that's it. No weird stuff going on.
I also think it's a pretty necklace and to a casual passerby they probably won't stop and read it so I wanted it as a cute accessory. But fine I'll wear it under my shirt.
(Btw it is a thing, it's called a boyfriend necklace and I didn't make it up.)
