My kids come home from school so angry and upset every single day. They are young elementary and one has a very hard time in school due to ADHD.
I am just so at a loss. They are not like this over the weekend or breaks. It makes me want to homeschool.

Some kids really hold in a lot at school and when they get home they let it all out. Its definitly in the range of normal.
Also do they take the bus home? I find the boys buses are really overstimulating and hefker and a lot of boys have a hard time with it.

No. We don't have bussing where we live. It just ruins our home environment. Is there anything I can do to help them regulate when they get home?

Feed them right away.
Also make a sensory corner, bean bags, soft lights, sensory toys, soft music, hammock type swings from the ceiling if you can, and have them relax there as soon as they come home.
A warm bath right away might also help them unwind.

Let them have some time to chill.
I know it’s a rush of dinner homework and bedtime but give them the time.
It’s really hard long hours and sitting in a desk it’s hard…

Can you homeschool, or is it just a fantasy? If you can swing it and dh is on board, I see no reason not to.

I do make sure they eat immediately.
We also have a coloring/drawing space that they love. Today my ADHD child was just getting angry at everything including his drawings though. I can do music. That might help them. I don't have space for a hang out space with bean bags or swings in my home though. We have a very small house.
I get home from work at the same time and I am overstimulated and need to get dinner made. Dh doesn't come home for a couple more hours so everything is on me.

It's a fantasy I guess. Dh would never be on board. I wish.

I think the transition to winter has been hard because usually they would go outside to play immediately when coming home. Now they can't get out all their energy.

Yes,mine complains as well! When on break, behaves so nicely and when back to school always seems upset. Makes me want to homeschool too! I think schools are just not interested enough. They need to upgrade the way they teach, kids are getting bored by the day.

Let them bundle up and play outside after eating something if you can. Even though it is cold it still feels good to move in fresh air or play I'm the snow.

I know not everyone does videos
But ADHD kids need time to decompress with something that relaxes the mind like watching a video for even 30 minutes.

Watching videos for my kids is terrible. They are even worse behaved. I do put on stories frequently. I should start making it a routine. Thank you
