Please help me. Please be kind.

How do I go about getting a diagnosis? I would like to see someone competent even if it means paying out of pocket.

How did you treat it? Meds? Naturally?

I’d appreciate all the info and experienced mothers on here I could get.

Hi. Just saw this. If you are in the U.S. I would call Relief and get matched up with a therapist first.

I did both.

If she's under the age of 10, the most effective help is to get for yourself. Parent training is far more effective at that age. There's a great program called SPACE and there are also others that are also good.

If she's over the age of 10, I still think it's the most effective but you can get her therapy.

Relief or your local Bikkur Cholim are a good place to start. Ask specifically for someone who works with parents of anxious children. But the parent trading modalities for therapy for anxiety for children are far more effective and quicker than play therapy alone.

ETA: I would recommend starting with this book and see if it helps. If you need more you can go to a professional. https://a.co/d/1j5tFN6
