Dd suffers from anxiety. We tried 2 therapists that didn’t click with her. Does anyone know a good warm therapist that deals with anxiety?

Any idea what didn’t work for her in terms of the two prior ones? Might help in trying to find the right one to know more. You ok with private pay? How old is she?

She is 17. I paid $250 per session. We tried 2 therapists that came in highly recommended. They just didn’t get her. She didn’t get any tools to cope with her issues.

Yes. One they gave me didn’t work out. Im sure for others it did. That is why I want first hand experience. Don’t want to traumatize my already vulnerable teen with yet another therapist that can’t help her.

That is so hard. Totally understand you not wanting to expose her to any more unhelpful experiences. I wonder if perhaps you could meet with a future therapist before introducing your daughter or at the very least have a thorough conversation so you can get a feel for whether you think it would be a good fit for your daughter before bringing her into the mix.
I don’t want to share phone numbers on here, but I can mention a few names of therapists I’ve met professionally who I think are really warm and sensitive to the needs of teens and do good work. Just to confirm— you’re in Brooklyn?
