Hi,
My daughter is in an academic high school that does not necessarily promote college after HS. She would love to somehow do something - that would translate into college credit for her. I know when I was in school in ancient times, we used to take CLEP tests and that translated into credit. What could she do and how could we help her do it?

My dds high school is doing a program through TTI where the girls can get college credits for classes they are taking. It's possible they would work with you privately.

She could take AP exams, if she knows the material.

She can take CLEPs and AP exams. Other than that, there's really no option if the school isn't working with a college program.

How do I navigate that on my own? Where do I start?

To take an AP exam, you or she would have to contact a school that administers AP exams. If a school is willing, then they would order the exam, you'd pay the school, and they'd administer it for your daughter in May.

We have CCP here in Ohio. Is this program in other states, or just here?

See if your state has a similar program to take college classes WHILE in high school. In fact, one of the colleges my daughter is considering (she's a high school senior)---- she doesn't need to apply because technically she's already a student (via CCP). She just needs to speak to a counselor to have paid classes available to her (right now the non CCP classes are locked so she doesn't accidentally sign up for something I need to pay for-- lol)

In applying for colleges on common app, she submitted transcripts from her high school AND from both colleges through which she's taking CCP classes.
