Don’t see it in the psukim with the first letter & last letter (list of names at the back of a suddur)

No first letter heh with a samuch at the end.

My dd wants to give this name - after my mil - but she thinks it’s not a real name

Anyone have an answer for us ?

It's a very real name. Not all names have a pasuk in the siddur, but that doesn't mean there is no pasuk for it.

My daughter’s middle name is Hadas. She was born during Sukkos and we love it. Some people only name using names from Tanach, but we’re of the approach that something with Jewish significance that anyone uses as a name is good to use. Our rav only said just don’t pick anything super suuuper Israeli that’ll make your kids weird if you end up staying in Chutz L’aretz. RW MO so many people make aliyah in our circles.

The lists in siddurim are far, far, far from comprehensive lists of "real" names.

A name without a pasuk is still a name. My cousin Sima doesn't have a pasuk so her family asked a shaila and was told to use a pasuk ending with a hei instead.

It’s a very real name… and beautiful too!

It was my Bubby’s name and I named my daughter after her. I know other families who’ve named their daughter Hadas as well.

My name isn’t in the Siddur either.

It’s a real name.
