I always wonder about this. Because my passport and my ss are under two different names now, since the last time I renewed it they saw I had gotten married and had a different last name in Israel

Is the name change due to marriage? If so, you go to the social security office and bring your marriage certificate. And maybe other documents. Check online.

I waited 18 years until I finally did this and it took all of 20 minutes at the office.
It’s no big deal.
The process is really simple.

Get in the office before 4:00. They close the doors then but if you are in the room they will take you even if it goes longer than 4
