My daughter is engaged, bh. She's a little older, and more introverted, so she has a few hs friends, a few seminary friends, but I don't think anyone who would take charge of shtick. I don't think I've been to a wedding that didn't have at least arches. Is it acceptable today to rent shtick ourselves, or should I call one of her friends and ask them to take care of it and offer to pay?

Similar situation with my sister, so me and my other sisters bought the shtick. Get a lot not just arches! There are gemachs

You could ask one of her closer friends or maybe a close cousin th have the job of being in charge of shtick. See if there’s a gemach in your area, most frum communities have at least one, that way you don’t have to worry about whether to offer to pay. You could even provide the person with the gemach contact info

I was older when I got married and even though my grade had shtick it wasn't in good condition, so the girls chipped in to borrow from a gmach. I assume they charge a small fee to borrow if it's nice shtick ex. parachute, roses, mazel tov signs, umbrella. Best to ask a close friend to take care of this.

You can bring it to the hall and at the hall ask one of her close friends who will be there the whole time to be in charge of bringing it out.

I got married young and paid for my own shtick. After it was paid for, I arranged with my friend that she would pick it up and bring it to the hall etc etc. she was also nice enough to return it back after the wedding.

I think you should coordinate with friends, it’ll be awkward if there ends up being 2 sets of shtick or if your daughter gets insulted that you did it instead of friends. Your idea is a good one, offering to pay for it.

I would order the shtick and call her friends or cousins, asking them if you bring it, will they be able to bring them in and out during dancing

Thank you all. She's the oldest sibling/cousin, so I guess I'll get from a gemach and ask a friend at wedding to be in charge.

She is the oldest by how much?
I was a teenager at my sister's and brothers weddings and did a lot of the shtick for my sister and Sil's. Coordinated with a few friends but I could have done it all myself. It was so fun and nice I could do family jokes and posters.

My dd’s class paid by a gemach while in 11th grade, and every 3 girls is a group that has to take care of shtik for their weddings. Find out if their class has that and if her friends/classmates will be doing it before you go through the hassle
